Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver which can be self-limiting or can progress to fibrosis/scarring, cirrhosis or liver cancer
Causes of Hepatitis
1. Viruses
2. Alcohol
3. Certain drugs
4. Autoimmune diseases
Hepatitis viruses
Main types of viruses causing hepatitis are A, B, C, D and E. Hepatitis B and C can lead to chronic disease, liver cirrhosis and cancer
Symptoms of hepatitis
1. Fatigue.
2. Nausea
3. Vomiting
4. Dark urine.
5. Clay-colored stool.
6. Loss of appetite.
7. Low-grade fever.
8. Abdominal pain or discomfort over liver site

Treatment of Hepatitis
1. Adefovir
2. Ribavirin
3. Lamivudine
4. Pegylated Interferon Alpha
